Good news for South County residents! However, it is not so good for those who choose to speed or drive while distracted.
Residents in South County have been complaining for months about the increase in traffic-related hazards in our communities., most recently at the SMNA town hall meeting on April 24th.
Our local law enforcement agencies were quite busy on the morning of March 26. In a joint effort, police from Morgan Hill, Gilroy, CHP, and SCC Sheriff cited over 100 drivers for a variety of traffic violations, including speeding. A few drivers were cited for going more than 20 miles over the speed limit on Monterey Road and San Martin Avenue.
