San Martin Planning Advisory Committee

UPDATE: SAN MARTIN PLANNING ADVISORY COMMITTEE WILL MEET IN SEPTEMBER 23rd-Starts at 6:00 P.M.

San Martin Advisory Planning Committee (SMPAC) is a space where residents are encouraged to get educated on local land use issues, policies, development projects, and other issues that pertain to the growth of San Martin.
Meetings are in person at the Animal Services Center, 12425 Monterey Road in San Martin. Meetings are scheduled the fourth Wednesday each month.
This month SMPAC will consider General Plan Rural Land Use policies (R-LUs) pertinent to San Martin that will be updated. It is important for residents who are concerned about land use issues in San Martin to understand these policies and provide input on how they may be updated.
Also slated for the agenda will be a report from County Staff on their proposed ordinance amendments to align with CA SB9 state law that allows construction of up to 4 housing units (2 primaries and 2 ADUs) on single family lots (within certain standards).

The San Martin Planning Advisory Committee, or SMPAC, is a seven-member committee appointed by the Board of Supervisors to advise the County Planning Commission and Board of Supervisors on land use matters of interest to the community and other matters of interest to  San Martin members and residents. The Committee meets monthly on the Wednesday evening prior to the County Planning Commission’s monthly meetings, which occur on the first Thursday of the month, unless a special meeting or meeting date is called. As part of its meeting agenda, the Committee may consider informational updates regarding planning issues in San Martin, and it also provides advisory recommendations to the Planning Commission regarding proposals for major subdivisions and conditional use permit applications.
